I have read from people on this site that many people were given Metformin along with Clomid to induce ovulation. I am about to start my second cycle of Clomid after an initial cycle in which I did not ovulate. My question is, at what point were you told to add metformin to the mix? My doctor has not mentioned it yet, but why not? Does it carry the risk of added side effects? If it increases the likelihood of ovulation, why wait? I am still seeing my regular OBGYN (and not a specialist) and I am wondering if a specialist would already have recommended metformin. thanks.

Metformin is a drug used to treat PCOS-polycystic ovarian syndrome and Type 2 diabetes. It's not a fertility drug. If you have a PCOS diagnosis, and symptoms of insulin resistance, it can be started at any point, and may help with establishing regular, ovulatory cycles, and treating some of the other problems that PCOS can cause. It does, however, have some serious side effects. If you do have PCOS, you may want to speak with a reproductive endocrinologist, in addition to your regular ob/gyn to help you get pregnant.

I'm on Clomid and never heard of Metformin. I would consult a specialist. The only thing I have heard is that if you don't ovulate whilst taking Clomid they increase the dosage.

Metformin is perscribed to some women with pcos - if you have that condition ask your gp to perscribe for your or refer on. Metformin can help pco women conceive without fertility drugs and if not, increases the likelihood of falling pg with them. If you are not pco, they will not help you.

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/dIYEd
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.
