If you had unprotected sex then it could be implantation bleeding but if you are on birth control it coud be breakthrough bleeding. You can use an early results test up to 5 days before your period is due so in a couple of days you may know for sure! But if the result is negative and you don't get your period, it could have just been too early too test.
Best of Luck!

It can mean everything and nothing. Try to stay down if you can. Call the doctor and tell him/her what is going on. Brown is not a big deal as that is old blood. Red could be more of a concern but if it is just a little and it goes right back to brown, the doctor will probably tell you to just take it easy for awhile. If the egg is implanting, your body will sometimes cause you to spot. I went through this for 6 weeks with my daughter and she is 20 now. Try not to worry.

Most likely that you're gonna be irregular this month...it doesn't always come when the calendar says so.
If you're worried and have some of the following symptoms, you may want to get tested for polycystic ovarian syndrome, a disease in which your egg doesn't leave your ovaries.
-extra weight, particularly in the midsection
-difficulty losing weight
-excess body/facial hair
-infertility
-missing period for more than three months
-short (one to three day) periods
There are many more, and some women with this disease show no symptoms. For more info, check out the PCOS Association website at http://www.pcosupport.org/

This happened to me once because of my birth control pills. I spotted for an entire week brown, then pink, then I had my regualr period for 5 days.

Do not worry unless the spots are bright red color or heavy. Wait for the week to pass and if CH does not arrive go see a doc

Yes, I agree to check with your dr., but with my experience, stress can induce early periods.
