Well if you've seen that episode of the simpsons where the kids have to be in the house before night time, and they sing that song....."aDULTS they walk around like their farts dont stink....."
The adults (homer marge and all the other parents) are bad mouthing the kids, then the seniors (grandparent type generation) come out and start bad mouthing their kids(which is homers generation).
The adults in your life were once kids, and frowned upon by adults once in their life 2, its an on going thing!
i dont think i really answered your question but yeah.
edit: the person above said its parents fault, i disagree, you as a person have a choice what to do with your life, i think after a certain age you can't blame your parents for your mistakes anymore because you have free will to do what you think is right.

Every generation looks at the next one coming up and says "Boy, we never acted that way" I'm sure my parents and the neighbors said the same thing about it.
Actually, I think it is just because our society is changing so rapidly that us oldsters can't keep up with it and find it very hard to accept a lot of the stuff we see. I doubt if the kids of today are really any different today than we were yesterday....we just hear more about it.
But, I will say one thing (Coming from an oldster) I have noticed that there seems to be a whole lot less respect than before. Students feel free to insult or bad mouth teachers etc. I know this is not ALL kids, but they are certainly the ones that get noticed by us oldies. And the gang stuff just isn't understandable to us....or the violence or the desire to see violence like in some of the video games. I guess it is just the old generation gap.

Great point - kids will behave the way the significant adults in their lives do nearly all of the time.
I am a High School teacher and it is almost predictable that problem kids have problem parents - we have a social breakdown - lack of accountability and responsiblity - too much indulgence of many kinds.
My opinion? The "banner of tolerance" - anything goes and if you want to it's ok rather than living disciplined with there being a right and wrong is showing signs. The baby-boomers are the ex-hippies and they and there kids think they are owed something and please themselves with attitude.
No God, lack of morals and stability - and you get what you get as the result.

It depends on the age group of the adults you are referring to.
And even then not ALL behave like the youths of today. And not all Youths act in the way you are referring to.

I agree. It's today's adults who are responsible for the craziness of today's youth. They raised them after all! Where do they think the kids learned it?

I am now in my 60's and have heard the same thing all my life.
My Grand Mother was born in 1900 Grand Father 1888.
Only when I was in my mid teens did I learn of the hanky panky my two aunts got up to
It is a degeneration of the elders standard as we see it.
