I think being overweight is most often times cause by not caring about taking care of yourself. Honestly what medical conditions cause people to be overweight that can not be controled? So I guess if not caring is a psychological issue than certainly.

It definately can be a psychological problem. If eating things that aren't good for you or eating more than you need are a problem, then there might be something in your mind that regards eating as a cure all fix for whatever emotionall or stress problem you have at the time. I liked watching discovery program about how we are now training our children to eat to be good, or eat to do their homework, etc.....not just eat, but to give them snacks and eat so that they will appreciate praise for what they have done.

If you have a hard time dieting and EXERCISING then being overwieght might be a psychological problem....

Its actually not overweight, but the increase of food intake is a psychological, overweight is a physiological problem ^_^.
When you get depressed, naturally you tend to eat (for some people).

It could or couldn't be a psychological problem. You could just eat because you like food. Everyone loves food. Or you could eat because something is upseting you in life. It can go either way.

No if you can physically see the problem not much psychological. But in a way it is when you eat emotionally, or in your sleep. I think its just a disease.

I think every case is different. There are many factors contributing to obesity. Depression is a big factor, low self esteem, loss of self worth, feeling alone etc. It's probably different for everybody.
