I was wondering how a drop ship company works? Do I need to get a business license, business name and all that to sell online?? The company will provide you with a website for like $23 a month but I'm not so sure about that right now..... I would like to sell some stuff on Ebay but I'm not sure how the drop ship thing works out? Can you explain that to me?? I read it on the company website but I'm scared to mess something up! Any suggestions? TY!

A drop ship company stores all the products, once a customer purchases something from you for lets say $20. You order it from the company for a discounted rate ($5.90) and give them you customers info. You keep the profit, they mail your customer the merchandise and it doesn't list their info on it so you customers think the item came directly from you. What I would suggest is to research the products first and see how many people on Ebay are selling them and if they are making good profits on them before you decide. Good Luck.

A drop ship company basically works with you; you are the sales end, attracting and funneling customers to buy from you, and when the customers order, you notify the drop ship company of the order and the customer's address. The drop ship company *directly ships* the product to the customer. You pay the company the wholesale price. You keep the monies you charged the customer, which hopefully is more than you paid. Drop shipping is good for you for the reason that you don't keep inventory, and you don't have to worry about the hassle of packaging and mailing the product out, especially if it's international shipping (and you have to deal with customs, excise taxes, etc). The drop ship company should take care of that.

However, the drop ship company should have enough experience to do all its responsibilities as described above. The last thing you want is the customer complaining that they didn't receive their product, and the drop ship company saying they "misplaced" your order instructions, or worse yet, they shipped it out but to the wrong address.

By the way, a lot of network marketing companies work on the drop-ship method. You basically contract out the services of the network marketing company (who is the supplier in most cases). You contract out their legal expertise, their shipping expertise, their business "franchising" training expertise, etc. And, they depend on you to help market and move their products and/or services.

You don't have to pay a monthly fee This site has a one time fee and gives you availability to over 500,000 products. http://snipurl.com/drpshp

The way it works is that you look in catalogues and download pictures of products and set your selling priced based on the wholesale price you will be paying. When some one orders a product, you order it from the wholesaler and they drop ship it to your customer instead of to you.

Hi,

Before you decide to choose the drop ship company (sometimes also known as dropshipper), you should send them email / contact them to see whether they are responsive.

Then, see their range of merchandise to see whether these are items that you are interested in reselling.

Third check their Delivery zones, as if it's restricted to only USA or Canada, then your clients from other parts of the world would not be able to be serviced.

Not all types of products would have dropshippers, like some of the case studies at http://www.InternetMarketingCoaching.com would have some entrepreneurs who are generating income online via Dropshippers.

Before deciding on what types of products that you are going to sell, see whether that type of products are having Bidding on eBay or other Auction sites or not.

You can find some dropshipping links and website tools links at http://www.eonenet.com/e_mall.htm
