My friend and her husband have just found out they are pregnant! Now to tell the family ... they are trying to find a creative way to announce it to them. Any ideas? Thanks!

My brother had a dinner to tell everyone, my sister sent out a holiday card from the baby (i think it was around easter), i sent out sonigram pics in the mail, i had a friend who put it up at the bank amarkie sign (small town). I had another friend who put in the local town paper. Hope that helps

A word search
A scavenger hunt (place random baby things throughout the home)
Put it into a fortune cookie

Send a card that says Hi Grandma - looking forward to meeting you - love Baby (last name)

Make a t-shirt that says BABY with an arrow pointing down...and after being around her family for a few, take off a sweater or jacket and see who notices first.

Pass out a cards that say "what kind of cake can be baked in a oven that you can't eat?"

My brother and his wife told our family around Halloween..we all recieved little punkin shaped paper saying...

"It is no trick
but It will be a treat
In 8 or 9 months
you'll be tickling little feet!"

It was so great to get the news in a different way..I have 5 nephews and this way was better than just coming out with the news!

Give the grandma-to-be a present -- a Grandma's bragging photo book.
Or, ask if she (grandmas to be) would not make any plans for this date (due date) That they have arranged for a very special private viewing of a very important celebrity: their grandbaby!
Or casually ask the grandparnet's to be how they told their parents that they were pregnant and listen to the story and then do the same thing back to them

I had this perdicument last year (I have a 5 month old now). Since Madi Gras is around this time, we bought a King Cake but did not put in the baby. When everyone asked who had the baby I said I do...or I will!! It was fun for everyone.

They could have maybe a family get together & if they had food they could have everything like Baby carrots, Baby bananas, basically stuff that would be considered baby fruits & Veggies or other food items. Then you could also have word searches, lots of pink & blue items, and much more. Hope I helped out alittle bit.

A very creative way is a scavenger hunt though I doubt that the family would go for it. But it would be worth a chance.

Well, this isn't the MOST interesting way (I've heard a few, ranging from Grandmothers' cards to booties), the way I did it was to call my parents and my mother-in-law and our grandparents and ask how they'd feel about being Grandparents/Great-Grandparents. My mother-in-law just about jumped through the phone at me though (my husband's an only child, and our daughter is her only Granddaughter). It was cute! :)

If they are in town, invite them to dinner and have a cardboard stork at the table, door, whatever. Corny but cute. Or if not, e-mail pictures of hints like...stork, pacifier, baby powder ...all signed off as..."can't wait to meet ya! Baby (enter last name here) Another corny and cute idea. P.S. Don't send a picture of the stick you peed on. EWW!

wait until April 1st and do a fake April fools... That way you can gauge the feelings of the people before you actually tell them...
we joked with our in-laws one year on April Fools that we were pregnant... turns out we were the April Fools... we found out three days later that we were pregnant!!
