Hi, I am trying to get into acting. Throughout my research I have read that your headshot is VERY important. What is the best way to do it? Should I have both a black & white and a color? Or should I just have one? Should I smile or look serious? I have modeled for 12 years and have a wide variety of photos. I think i may do a new shoot for this one though. Any suggestions?

Traditionally headshots are in Black & White. Locate a photographer that does a lot of actor headshots. If you don't know a headshot photographer in your city, ask your actor friends or acting teacher for recommendations.

Relax! If the photographer is a professional headshot photogrpher, he knows exactly what is needed for actor headshots. Modeling photos are not acceptable for actors.

The headshot was, as all great discoverys are, a total accident. The headshot was invented by a man named Rambo in 1306. He, before becoming the God that he is, used to hunt in the most trivial manner of hitting small animals at larger animals with a paddle. This could be traced back to one of the earliest forms of Gerbil Tennis. This took several hundred small animals and many hours of paddling. Once day, however, Rambo was hunting what he thought was some kind of Moose with a standard variety of ammunition: squirrels, kittens, and the like. He began to open fire on the creature with his laser guided animal paddle, when, in reaching for a squirrel, he mistakenly picked up a 70 ton boulder, and paddled it at the thing. The creature stared blankly at it, smiling, as the boulder crushed the thing's head into an ugly red paste. The whole incident took 14.86 seconds, giving a 16958.277% efficiency boost from the usual average of 70 hours per kill (In which case the animal usually died of boredom, exhaustion, or starvation as opposed to pain.).

you should definately smile. A white t-shirt always looks better than dark. And pic a profile to pose in. Such as showing your left or right side of face. And traditionally they should be in black and white. The acting community has been doing them in black and white for the longest time proving that race is not a problem in show buisness.

oh expensive that's in certainty horrid. do no longer use it. you would be extra advantageous off having a chum take a image of you head on in front of a clean wall, crop it to circulate and shoulders at a Kodak kiosk, make it black and white and print at an 8x10 length - will value you possibly $3. heavily - you will no longer get the area, based on the photograph on my own. you may incredibly be extra advantageous off no longer having a image. Sorry, yet real. additionally positioned on a easy blouse - white or black and NO rings.
