"The 1990 is a breakdance move which resembles a rapidly spinning one-handed handstand. It is a type of spin in practice, but many consider it a power move because it is so flashy and is often begun with significant momentum like other power moves."

Hope this helps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1990_(breakdance_move)

ight how u do a 1990, try doing this on a hard surface, hard cardboard or thin cardboard, soft surfaces has more injuries and harder to spin. soft surfaces = over bending wrist, hard surfaces = more pain when falling ( but what da heezy hey thats how u learn 1990 you have to fall A LOT iiiiiigh)

directions for clockwise bboys/breakers. if your counter-clockwise jsut do opposite

stand up or do your toprock(your custom dance at the begining) kick/thrust your right leg back at the same time placing your right hand on the ground (fingers facing your right leg, turn your hands clockwise, also you should be upside down) basically when u do this try doing it in a clock-wise motion

once on your right hand put your left hand down (putting weight on left hand) use your left hand to force yourself to spin clockwise or help your body weight feel more comfortable spinning clockwise, while u transport to your left hand you kick your legs real fast and stiffen up, your legs should be opposite of eachother (you wont get the 90 your first try, alot of people get stuck on this step for along time, at this point be careful because this is where the most injuries occur.

when your arm gets strong enough or used to carrying your own weight you notice you have more power. one of the big problems is when you do 90 people look at the ground, dont do it just keep your face vertical wit your chest, and yeah there is a fear to this of falling backwards etc so face your fears.

little by little you'll get revolutions spinning on your hand and the more you do it the better balance.

the more POWER and BALANCE makes a better 1990, just balnce them try experimenting on them for example,
try less power and more balance, then try more power less balance, that will make u feel the differnce and will learn how to balance... power and balance at the same time.
