what are the initial requirements ? do we have to get ragistered with some domain name with the ISP ?

Setting up a Basic Webserver can be done in an Hour.

If you have a Domain Name registered with some Service Provider just ask him to point the domain to the Public IP or Global IP which you have given to the webserver.

And for the server side install Windows 2003 and go to add remove programs > add remove windows components and add IIS.

Your Webserver is up and running.

If you have a firewall you need to open the port 80 on the Global IP.

But thats not all. Your server is configured but not secure.

You need a professional to configure your server security or you can buy a book like Configure Security on IIS6 and do it urself.
