Up here where stuck with The Rick Mercer Report and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, which both really suck! Why don't we have any good joke news shows?

We used to; 22 Minutes was great when Rick Mercer was on the show, but since he split off 22 Minutes went way downhill and his new show, while having a few good moments, has also been poor.
Unfortunately, there is a very limited market for Canadian programs (even in Canada), especially shows specifically about Canadian current affairs. I doubt we will see anything unless those two shows get turfed off the air by the CBC and they invest in something fresh. I don't see it happening because the shows on the CBC tend to become institutionalized and remain on the air even when they cease to be good and have nobody watching.

I love Rick Mercer. If he weren't homosexual, I would write him love letters. I wish the Kids in the Hall would do a daily show these days. that would be fun.
