Ok here's the thing. We we are getting power to and outlet, But it is not enough power to actually run even a drill. What could be the cause of this. We even put a new outlet to see if something might have been wrong with the old one. Still doing the same thing.

the answer is the breaker in your power box. call a pro for a free examination, do not poke around yourself

hmmm. only two things I can think of. a wire somewhere is just about to break or has broke and is barely making contact. Or, the breaker is messed up and not letting the amperage through, yet it does not trip. First things first, cycle the breaker on and off a few times and see if that does anything at all. you may have to just have to replace it. Oh, it could be a partial short somewhere along the line and most of the power is going into the ground.

loose connection in the previous socket nearby that it is fed from is the first place to check, or if it is not loose remove and check the connections to make sure the srew is clamping down on the bare metal of the cableand not clamping on the plastic insulation. make sure you turn the electricity off before hand
