No. If your notebook has wireless connectivity and that you have a wireless router, then connect to the router.... If you don't have a router, simply plug a second Internet Line into your Modem port on your PC and plug the other port into your DSL then sign online.. You don't need the CD...

First you need a connection from your Notebook to your Desktop.

Since you have told that your Dekstop is configured for ADSL.

If you want wireless get a Wireless Router Connect the ADSL Modem to your Router. Connect a Cable between your Router and Desktop and access the Wireless for connecting the Laptop.

Now you would be all geared to access the internet and access your desktop.

There are soem configuration you need to make after getting your router.

If you need help you can get back to me after getting your Router and i can help you.

If you have a Spare networki card in your Computer and you dont mind using wire to connect ur Computer and Notebook.

Walk into any ciomputer store and buy a Cross Clipped Network cable or 3-5 Mts in Length.

Now give 192.168.0.1 as ip addess in desktop and 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask.

In the Laptop give 192.168.0.2 as ip addess and 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask.

Add the address 192.168.0.1 for gateway and dns server.

Now in the desktop right click the ADSL Connection go to advanced TAB and select Internet Connection Sharing.

Now you can access internet in both the Note Book and Desktop and both the systems are also networked.

If you still need help get back to me
