He was based on the same person Leatherface and Norman Bates was based off of; Ed Gein. The cannibal used many different pats for eating, it is too brutal to explain her, but if you type in his name, you'll get all of the info you need. Ed Gein was a momma's boy who only admitted to killing a couple of people; apparently he stood with the story that most of the body parts in his refrigerator were dug up from fresh graves.

He is not based on Ed Gein but a Mexican doctor by the alias "Dr.Salazar".. "Dr. Salazar" whose real identity is the name Alfredo Balli Trevino was the inspiration and the true reason for Hannibal Lecter not Ed Gein like so many people assume.

no he is a work of fiction. i do however the behaviors exhibited by him and those in books about him are compilations/synopsis of various real life serial killers i.e buffalo bill in SOTHL(ed gein) hannibal lecter (andre chikatilov,jeffrey dahmer) enough serial killer talk i'l have nightmares LOL
