I had my period 3 weeks ago and so I don't know what this is...Usually I get my periods within 5 weeks of each other (it's not regualar yet) so I'm not sure what this is but I don't think it's blood from my period cause it's discolored...and there's not very much of it...it's kind of off and on and it's been going on for like 3 days now..I know some of you would say to ask my mom but for me that's just too weird! (I get really squirmish about stuff like this.) Also every other time I've had my periods I've gotten really bad cramps...and this time I've felt no pain. Please help!

I can understand not being comfortable talking to your mom about this, some girls just aren't that close to their moms. Try calling your doctor. Doctors have pretty much seen and heard it all. You don't have to be shy about talking to your doctor, and they are the only ones that can really help you with this stuff.

I assume you are really young and just started your period which would make what you are experiencing normal. It takes time to become "regular" which would mean that you get your period every 22-29 days which is every month. What you may be experiencing now is some "old blood" that wasn't discharged last month- is it brown and thicker? I guess the big question is are you sexually active? Because if you are, you really need to go to a free health clinic and get a woman's physical exam--- THEY WILL NOT TELL YOUR PARENTS-- they cannot, it's illegal in the USA. Bad cramping like you stated you have is usually associated with cysts on your ovaries- which all women get but sometimes when the cysts get big you have more cramping and you can have a discharge like you stated you're having.

If you are having sex, I hope you are having protected sex which I mean using a condom because you do not want to get any sexually transmitted diseases or get pregnant---

You should really trust talking to your mom, she will be thrilled that you confided in her and she will not make it awkward for you. Also- even if your mom takes you to the ER or a doctor and you need to get a gynecologic exam- THE NURSE, DOCTOR AND STAFF WILL NOT AND CANNOT DISCLOSE ANYTHING TO YOUR MOM-- SO DO NOT WORRY-- THEY WILL NOT EVEN ASK YOU QUESTIONS IN FRONT OF HER, SO DO NOT LIE TO THEM- TELL THEM THE TRUTH--- THEY WILL HAVE HER LEAVE THE ROOM WHEN THEY TALK TO YOU--- so feel safe and let her in the loop---she cannot find out anything you don't want her to know...........good luck honey...........
