Just curious, I know there is probably no "cure" so to speak but is there anything non-prescription that will reduce the effects of the disease such as lack of concentration, short term memory issures ect.

Through a lot of study, ADD has been connected to the use of meats, dairy, poultry and highly refined sugars. You can try taking all of these out of your diet, and then slowly add (1 per week) certain foods. If you get a reaction, then you'll know that it is a food that you are allergic to and creates a lot of the problem. Most adults that have this disorder are able to control the majority of the symptoms by reducing their intake of fats, meats and dairy, not to mention the most important, processed sugar and flour. You might check out the macrobiotic diet, it seems to have helped my sister. She hasn't had the inability to focus on tasks, which was a prime factor for her.

Best of luck and I really hope this helps, my friend.

Nutrition is the best bet. The body requires all the raw materials for your cells to replace themselves with healthy new cells. If you are deficient in just one vitamin or mineral some brain cells cannot replace themselves. Marine phytoplankton is a good plant source to give the body the raw materials for all the cells in the body.

Supposedly ephedra helps. It *is* a stimulant, like most prescription ADD drugs.
