Hi there Helen,, Here are my choices:

I always liked "You've Got Mail"/ or the original version "The Shop Around the Corner" I mean it's a bit silly but they manage to tell the story without the two main characters having sex which is something you rarely see these days.... and of course they don't in the old one either. I'd start with the original though, older movies are always better.

Helen, bear in mind that a guy's idea of a romantic movie will differ greatly from girls'. Are you sure you know this guy well enough to be playing him romantic movies...? It could well backfire...My advice is to take him bowling first and drop "When Harry Met Sally" into the conversation.

For me it would be:
Titanic
Grease
An Officer and a Gentleman
Pretty Woman
Love Story
Notting Hill
Dirty Dancing
You've got mail
Sleepless in Seattle
Jean de floret (French)

There are thousands but it depends on what you class as romantic.

Anna and the King, with Jodee Foster and Chow Yun Fat. It's an older movie, but beautiful scenery and really romantic.

Happiness, The Secretary, or The Libertine. First two are comedies, although the romance in Happiness is kind of an undercurrent. The Libertine is a period piece.
