I started out 4 years ago with the same question and tried lots of things - telemarketing, typing, data entry, etc. Some were total scams.

eBay is a good option. You may find this guide helpful in getting started on eBay. It is written from my own experience from selling for 4 years. I've sold about 12,000 items. I've learned alot along the way by trial and error and hope to save others some time and mistakes! I didn't have anyone helping me, so I hope I can help others do this, too.

I haven't made a million dollars, and don't promise that you will. But, I have made several thousand dollars doing this and been able to work at home. Plus, it is fun!

Consumer direct marketing in which you set your own hours, make your pay scale up to $5,000 per month in a year and a car paid for by the company. The residual income that is generated is totally awesome. My wife and I have been very happy with the income it has generated. You could start your own business.

Find someone that does what you like, and learn. Or, even I could teach someone my business model. Regardless of who it is you ask, building your own business now, and building it to the point where it generates income passively, would free up all of your time a few years from now. Then you wouldn't be looking to go back to a job when the child reaches schooling age.

Do you currently have a successful career?
Are you going to have children right away?
If you have a great job, & you're not going to have kids right away, why quit????
If you are in a dead-end job, go back to school!
Fine, take advantage of his offer to quit work, then go back to school to learn what you've always wanted to do!! THEN when your kids are grown enough, you can return to work in a career that you LOVE!
