how to view .gif image in Windows 98?

My friend's computer is still using Windows 98 (I cant understand him). I sent him a .gif image that I swear it can animated (I use Windows XP SP1). But he cant watch it animating like me, eventhough he double clicked on it. Plz someone plz show me how to help my friend.

Sounds like he doesn't have a good viewer.

Have him open it in Internet Explorer or just drag it onto an open Internet Explorer window.
