I'd like a 'no-license-fee' option, if possible. My PC can't access the info on the drive. Keep getting 'corrupted' popups.

have you tried it on another computer?
Also you might try a virus scan to see if it can be cleaned.

No. Flash drives store files on a chip electronically, as opposed to a hard drive, which is magnetic. If the Flash drive doesn't recognize files being present, then you can't possibly get them, unless you know how to do a raw data dump from one and can reassemble damaged files by looking at the code. There is no free solution, or even a cheap one.

No.. recovery is especially hard with thumb drives..
