How much does it cost to have books binded? I am putting my own cookbook together for friends and family. I'm just lost on the way I should publish.

Check out lulu.com and blurb.com. Both give plenty of options for self-publishing and you pay for only the books you buy, even if that means just one copy.

Yes because it looks nicer and is very costly to make them. Its because of the cost of materials and labor. You have to pay many more people to make leather-bound books than regular machine-made hardcovers.
