Unless you've been eating a lot of beets and beet juice, go see your doctor tomorrow morning. It's urgent. I can't tell you if it's bad or not, but it could be, and it's better to be safe than sorry. Your doctor will be able to tell you what's up, and yes, SOMETHING is probably up. People don't just pee blood for NO particular reason.

Blood in the urine is never a "normal" sign. When you can actually see the blood, it is ALOT of blood. Typically, when you pass blood it is unnoticeable to the naked eye. You need to think of a couple of issues here. Have you ever passed a kidney stone? Was there any pain involved during the time you passed the blood, or just prior? Any pain, even in your back, to one side or the other, or in the groin area. If not, and it is painless blood, you should seek treatment as soon as possible. Hopefully it is something that is easily treated, but it can be a sign of a much more serious, even dangerous condition.

Good luck to you!

Yes, you need to see a urologist. Blood in urine may be a sign of a serious medical disorder so it does require medical investigation and it should not be ignored. In most cases the amount of blood loss is not necessarily an indication of the seriousness of the disorder. When blood is mixed with urine it is sometimes difficult to judge the gross loss.

The most common causes of hematuria are kidney and bladder stones, trauma to the kidney, bladder, or other parts of the genito-urinary tract. Anything from “joggers hematuria”, kidney disease, sexually transmitted diseases, benign prostate hypertrophy, viral infection of the urinary tract, tumours and blockages, as well as some medications (e.g. phenytoin, quinine, rifampin) can cause blood in your urine.

Call your physician first thing in the morning.

UTI, urinary tract infection,......if you have to pee again really often, or have that sensation that you need to go again, its very common, go to a doctor for some treatment. Otherwise it might be a kidney stone, gall bladder stone, or some other reason.

Find a doctor and have them do some blood work and find out what is wrong....It usually stings or burns when this happens.......all it takes is peeing in a cup and if UTI is the problem, then medication is all that is necessary.

Deffinitely go to the dr. it might not be anything more than a urinary infection, but, it is better to get it checked out...don't freak about it, just go and make an appointment and tell them what's going on and they will get you in immediately, and probably all you will have to do is take an antibiotic...go to the dr....and watch it and see if and how much blood is there the next time...keep track of it till you get to the dr. See if you have a fever, if your fever is high go to the hospital..if you don't have a fever, call your dr. as soon as you can...

If you're not female and on your period, run, don't walk, to an emergency room. If you have that much blood in it, your kidneys could be failing. Otherwise, you could have a severe kidney infection. Do you have any other symptoms like back pain etc...?
Either way get your butt to the ER!!!

Yes, it's bad. It can be anything from the start of a UTI to a kidney stone to a symptom of a number of types of cancer.

See your doctor immediately. In fact, that really should prompt a trip to the ER.

How old are you?
You could have had an injury to your kidney.
Or you could have a severe bladder infection.
Or bleeding related to an enlarged prostate.

You need to see your doctor tomorrow, or if the bleeding continues tonight, go to ER.

It is bad; go to the dr., they will probably refer you to a urologist, who specializes in problems of that area.
