You can dance en pointe for as long as you are comfortable and your body holds up. I know many dancers personally that dance en pointe and are well over 40 years old, people in their 50's and 60's. If you love what you do it is hard to stop unless you have an injury or health concern, I plan on dancing for as long as my body lets me. Mikhail Baryshnikov was/is a famous male dancer who has trained to dance en pointe and he is about 70 years old but did not stop dancing until about 10 years ago. I am not sure of famous ballerinas though, but I do know many local ballerinas that do.

I am 13 and i went on pointe at 9 because i had strong legs and had a good pointe. It doesn't matter what age you are to go onto pointe, just as long as you are strong and you have a passion for it.

There are lots of ballet dancers, from beginners to professional who fit in that age group. Dancing on pointe has more to strenght and training not age.
