They can sometimes overheat when you put them on clothing material. But if its working, then there's nothing wrong with it.

Well its not going to make your notebook stop working, since your notebook has fail safe heat sensors built in, but it will damage it over time. Since if you leave your notebook on your bed it will sink in and the bed retains the heat not to mention your blankets work at blocking you notebooks vent wholes making your system start to overheat. Basically if you put your notebook in bad situations long enough it will start to where out faster and one day you'll be taking 5minutes to boot up because things like your processor and harddrive will wear out.

It *could* over heat the laptop, as some of the air vents can be on the bottom.
