Trouble with AIM?

I recently installed AIM 6.0 because I was having trouble with AIM 5.9. Now, every time I try to send a message, AIM shuts down completely without an error message or anything. It just shuts down.
I'm having issues with my video card and motherboard, so I'm not expecting this to be an easily fixable problem if it is at all.

OK.. Not trying to be funny.. You need to go by the process of elimination.. Completely delete AIM off your system and see how it acts. If it starts to run normal, then you need to get the updates for AIM. If it stays the same, you have a systematic problem and AIM has nothing to do with it. Good luck.
