I once read that there is a vein leading from your left ring finger to your heart, and that was why the band was worn there.

I just took an anatomy test today, and I can tell you that any vein that is in your left hand is also in your right hand. If there is anatomical variation, it's not consistently found across different people.
The left hand, however, *is* closer to the heart.

wedding ring is ALWAYS worn on the left hand. why? i dont know, but its always been that way.
