lol...Expecially for Hi, Dwight M, I love Kobe, & Jo.
Now remember, you guys attacted me first with Kobe winning all-star mvp. So don't get mad because now I'm about to respond & let you guys know how worthless that award is. It's a freakin joke. Who actually goes around bragging about winning all-star mvp? Noboby but silly people who don't know anything about baskball.
Anyways, all-star mvp defines nothing. Because the all-star game itself is a game that designed to thrill the fans. The game doesn't really apply for any defense. That's why you see guys constantly doing incredible dunks & plays you don't see in real games. It's just a show like the Harlem Globetrotters. Anytime you see Shaq dribbling down court as point guard & shooting far jump shots is proof enough that the game isn't tooken serious. If the game was serious, Shaq wouldn't do such a thing. But it's not, and that's why he does it. Because it's entertaining to see Shaq trying to display a point guard. Arguments?

LMAO...at you Hoopfan, you are a BIG FAT Michael Jordan HATER..lol. If you think all-star mvp defines legacy, then you really need to change your name to IdiotFan...lol. I'll tell you how much all-star mvp means to me, MJ is my favorite player ever, & I couldn't tell exactly you how many he won..lol. But I show could tell you how many finals mvps/regular season mvps he has(6 finals & 5 season).... and MJ's last all-star game, he did get selected by coaches. You know, you could sound real silly sometimes. You just make up things about MJ just to bring him down. What you jealous that Larry Bird couldn't make the all-star game at age 40?....lol. MJ made it because he was selected by the coaches. If they didn't select him, then he wouldn't of never been there, IDIOT!

It depends on who's "greatness" and who's "legacy" your talking about. If you talking about Tom chamber's.(like someone else stated)..it is part of his greatness and legacy(along with the Jackson dunk). If your talking about L.Legend...then an allstar MVP isn't that great , because he's done so many other greater thing's.

If the All Star Game MVP means nothing what does the skills challenge means? You made it seem like Wade won MVP of the Super Bowl, when it was obvious everyone was going half speed in that B.S. competition....do the math...Rings Kobe 3 Wade 1, do you honestly think wade will get another....No....in fact the Heat might not even make the playoffs this year. The BIG HURT aka Shaq can barely walk up the floor while you got a kidney transplant patient taking up his minutes....and oh I can only imagine how you would have wrote a ten page dissertation on Wade if he won the All Star MVP, but since he didn't, we will never know....I love your hate, instead of trying to convince yourself that Kobe isn't great will get you no where, because everybody thinks that you are a joke..(From all the best answers I got from your questions)..thanks by the way....Take the nude picture of Wade off your wall and pull your skirt back down, you are fighting a losing battle...Kobe is a Hall of Famer..right now!!! Wade is not yet! Stop It!!! Nobody believes you.

I agree. The all-star MVP is usually just the guy who happens to get hot and then he goes for the award. Gilbert Arenas even admitted that if he had come out and hit his first few shots he would have gone for MVP but he didn't so he just sat back and had fun. Everyone of those guys could be the MVP on any given night but whoever happens to score the most points (usually) and puts on the biggest show wins it.
I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the equivalent of winning MVP of your rec league though because it is kind of a big deal to the guy that wins it. I forget who said it (I think it might have been Charles Barkley) had a good point when they said when you win All Star game MVP you're the best player in the world for that day. I don't think it has a huge amount of importance but it does mean something to the players.

Yeah, you tell em 'jd
All-star game MVP's are meaningless.......unless you're talking about the ones MJ won. Then you need them to help justify his "greatness." lol
And if the all-star game was designed to "thrill the fans", then why, in 2003, was Vince Carter, who was selected by THE FANS as a starter, pressured into stepping aside so that Jordan (who was NOT SELECTED by either the fans or coaches) could play?
Obviously, it must mean something to Jordan's legacy.
_______________________________________
'jd......I DON'T THINK that all-star MVP's have anything to do with a players legacy. Read my answer!
What I said was, Jordan worshipers throw that into the argument of why Jordan is the greatest, along with the other B.S. "awards", like the Espy, SI Player of the Year, and of course, the coveted IBM Award. LOL
Those are "popularity" awards, and meaningless. Mj won those awards not because he was the best, but because he was the most popular. But, its the ONLY argument you guys have for MJ.
And BTW.....Larry Bird retired at age 36, so he "show" COULDN'T have won it.....IDIOT!@!
Dude.....check YOUR earlier question: MJ at age 40 vs. Pippen at age 30. Tweety gave you the link. You must not read our answers, obviously.
Jordan was NOT voted in the 2003 all-star game either as a starter (by the fans), or as a reserve (by the coaches). Its a fact!. C'mon, that was only four years ago, don't you remember? You had to be about, what...8 yrs old then !! lol
Vince Carter, who was voted in as the starter by the fans, was pressured by the media, to relinquish his place to Jordan. So, no, Jordan was NOT selected by the coaches, and yes, he WAS there.

let's put it this way. tom chambers wins all star mvp in 87'
he's far from great.
the all-star game is just a showcase presented to the fans of who they want to see (or who the coaches feel are having a good year)
while its an honor to be an allstar and win the award, ur defined as a player by other things that u do (or dont do) on the court

All-Star MVP doesnt mean anything. I think most players in the game could take it over if they gave it 100%. Most of the players were just cruising with the exception of Lebron and Kobe in the 4th quarter and Amare earlier in the game

All-Star games are basically pick-up games played by the best/most popular players. Being an All Star MVP isn't much more meaningful than being named MVP of your rec league.
