I started my periods when I was 11, too.

For a long time, I just had spotting, which was some brownish stuff on my pad, and no real bleeding.

It takes a long time for your periods to become regular. Most women don't get really regular until they are in their late teens or early 20s. You probably will not have regular cycles for quite a while. So, if it's been 28 days today, and you haven't started again, don't worry too much about it. As time goes on, you will become more and more regular, and you will also probably be able to tell from the way you are feeling that you are getting ready to have your period.

One other thing to keep in mind is that not everyone, even women with very regular cycles, has a 28 day cycle. It can be a little shorter, or a little longer, but usually the variance is quite small, like from 27-30 days.

You may not get it again for a while, but just keep a pad handy, like in your purse, so you don't get caught short if you are at school and your period starts.

Good luck.

That is normal. Sometimes it is brown gunky stuff rather than blood either before or after it starts or ends. And when you are first starting your period it is not unusual to get irregular spotting at unexpected times throughout the month until your body evens itself out and gets the hang of the whole period thing. Its nothing to be concerned about. And, unless you are on birthcontrol, your periods may or may not always come on the exact same day each month, and u may not have a perfect 28 day cycle each time. Sometimes it can be up to 32 days.

Your periods will be irregular for a while. The blood normally turns brown towards the end of your flow. No worries! You're young, enjoy life!

I don't know really, some people get their period month to month, but then other people get it even if they just got over it. It usually changes a few days each month.

was it your period? or did your hymen thing break? or it could be somethng entirely different. Who took you to buy pads? can you ask them, if you dont want to go to the doctor, not that anything would be wrong, but just so you know whether it was a period or not?

how do you know you were supposed to get your first one today? I don't think periods are very consistent in the first few times to the first year
