Pete's last one was in 1979 and as you can see there's no Bird
Bird didn't make it until 1980 as that's when he entered the NBA
Pete did play 26 games for boston in 1980 at the very tail end of his career that's probably what you saw

You saw the two of them play briefly together durring the 1979-1980 season with the Boston Celtics. It was Larry Bird's first season in the NBA and it was Pistol Pete's last stop before retiring at the end of that season. Sadly, Maravich declined an invitation to stay with the team the following season. The Celtics won the NBA championship in 1981.
