the answer is A. pictograph which represents the archaic sumerian script before cuneiform took over. there are some interesting comparisons between the sumerian pictograph script and the old european "vinca" script which predates the sumerian script.

There is an older form of writing from central and western europe called vinca which was a hieroglyphic written language . b. Cuneiform was a mesoppotamian language from around the 3rd millenium , it also was written in heiroglyphs . Hope this helps .
