Hey Yahoo. I think you should just shut down YA like you shut down the news msg boards. How can you condone it
The behavior, how can you condone it like it's supposed to be some kind of intellectual buffet? There are more trolls on YA than there ever were on the news related message boards. I understand that the forum is prone to bored people doing really stupid things and that there are a lot of stupid people out there, but it's gotten to the point where fake people asking fake questions or responding in a denigrating way to legitimate questions is the norm. It's a troll free for all. Your reporting system is faulted, your cancelling of accounts is unjust, you allow a new account to be opened and the bullcrap to start over again in less than a breath. What is going on with you people? Are idiots the ones you want to attract? You're certainly doing a good job of it lately.

No offense. I know how sensitive Yahoo is about their image.

I am not supposed to answer a famous person like you, Milkbone. However your question and your argument do not make sense. You never administrate the big forum like YA, you never know how difficult it is. Besides, YA is part of YH business. Do you think if you want YH shutdown YA, then they do? There are tons of helpful out there on other sections that you have never known.

Every business has both positive and negative sides. If anyone does not like it, just walk away. I don't know why people use YA for free but always complain about it.

Absolutely not! There are people that come here to ask legitimate questions and seek answers that they may not find elsewhere. To shut down a site that may hold answers for some is just plain ludicrous. I agree some of the behavior is outrageous and should not be condoned but punish all for the ignorance of some is not just.

Just a suggestion - maybe if you (both you the user and you the collective group here) bought some stock in Yahoo and then attended a stockholders meeting and brought this up, that might help? I don;t know exactly what's involved, but I believe that owning even one or two shares of stock gives you the right to attend stockholder meetings. If someone were to go and pass out printout of some of the abuse that's common around here (both the homophobic bigots and the racist ones) that might stir up enough shock and horror among other stockholders to get something done.

I have actually contacted a few Internet abuse websites and found out that Yahoo! actually has the WORST rating as far as protecting it's users and customer care.
Because it's a free website, not a paid membership site, Yahoo feels it doesn't owe it's users anything in return.
This is evident with their non-existent "Customer Service" phone numbers, refusal to address complaints in any other manor than computer generated form letters, laziness in acting on reports of abuses and their willingness to condone and even promote harassment!

I completely agree. I think the only suitable way of resolving this manner is to reformat it to make it into a forum type setting. Then, a group of moderators could overlook certain forums. this is a faulty idea to some people, but I think at least this way the dumb and degrading Q&A could be taken away.

We do comprehend that they assign first names on the tip of "inventory" replies to inquiries. yet do they ever study something. I heavily doubt that. They under no circumstances ever demonstrate an "id" as they concern lawsuit for refusing to take accountability for their products..
