he's not doing anything now because he's not that special of a player. The guy isn't aweful, but he's never going to be an NBA all-star. He'll probably join the ranks of a Steve Kerr and be known as an effective 3 point shooter for his career. The fact that he's white has nothing to do with it, it's the fact that there are more athletic and experienced players in the NBA right now, and he's not on that level yet-it's probably take 3-5 years for him to become an effective player.

I can't stand JJ Reddick, and Duke, for that matter. Race has nothing to do with ability. I've always felt he was overrated. Yeah he can shoot but that's all. They did the same thing with Danny Ferry and Christian Laettner who were not so great in the NBA. Very few Duke players make that much of an impact professionally.

People thought correctly that he wouldn't do well in the NBA because of his one dimensional game and his inability to create his own shot. The players in the NBA are much better than the competition he faced in college and they would be able to stifle his dribble and his drive, therefore he would be relegated to being a spot up shooter who depends on someone else getting them the ball when they get open (those players typically average less than ten points per game). Furthermore, his looks at the basket would be much shorter as NBA players are typically quicker than NCAA players. This would cause his shooting percentage to go down and take even more away from his game. It has nothing to do with being white and everything to do with him being successful due to a system (Duke) rather than raw talent.

He was injured in the beginning of the season....
I do think that people subconsciously notice that he is white and do not consider him good enough for that reason, but the reality is that he is only a shooter. He doesn't drive to the basket well or play good defense. Now, that doesn't mean he won't have a good career. People like Allan Houston and Steve Kerr made their careers purely on shooting, and there is no reason why J.J can't do that.

He is a little to small and slow to be sucessful in the NBA. The more tough, agressive NBA style is too much for him/
