at 13 i was kind of a sissy but now im 15 and i throw right around 75 to 78 but control is probally the most important thing remember if your gonna throw the ball up get it up and dont leave it in the mid section keep it at there numbers and otherwise keep the ball down and avoid the wheel house

13 yr olds can throw around 55-60.....if its 13-15 then the older kids can reach upper 60s possibly low 70s, but probably not very accurate at that speed. Most kids will lie about their speed and say they throw 80mph or whatever.....dont believe it. If u r a pitcher there are much more important things than speed, control is by far the most important. Not accuracy but control. Accuracy means u can throw strikes, control means u can throw the ball where u want within the strike zone. TO gain speed, work on ur mechanics, look at Maddux and Glavine....both are about 6ft and 170lbs.....both can throw high 80s....bcuz they have good mechanics. So work on strengthening ur shoulder and rotator cuff, work on ur mechanics, and develop a throwing program.....but rememberspeed aint everything

I played in a Babe Ruth league for ages 13 -15. At 13 I could throw mid to high 50's according to pitching machines at the ballpark and amusement parks. That was without a warmup. So, I'd imagine good pitchers could throw 60, hard throwers 65.
