My wife and I are friends with a couple that has a 6yr old
kid. The problem is the 6yr old kid is spoiled rotten, has
his own portable dvd, portable cd player, cellular phone,
that has to go with him everywhere he goes. He interrupts
when we are talking, when it comes time to eat he doesn't
like this and what he does like he picks over it then says
he doesn't want anymore. We are helping the family to
buy some land and looking around neighborhoods we are
familiar with and showing them, but everytime they come
they bring their kid. I want to say something but do not
want to hurt the parents feelings on the actions of their son.
The son still acts the same so should I say anything or
just leave it as is, and do you consider this child spoiled.
What is your opinion.?

FOr your sake dont say anything, but if the parents seem willing or ask for help, give them the following advice.

Give him chores to do around the house to earn things. Toughen the chores up gradually to earn more. Simple chores, earn less. Start by teaching him the value, then the earning ability he has with drive and motivation. Let him pay for the things he wants instead of you paying. This way he decides if he wants to spend a whole day's worth of work for one CD!
