That depends upon what you're consulting. If you're giving a medical opinion, I think a license is expected. Also law and real estate. If you're doing interior decorating consulting, I don't think a license is in order - but don't quote me on that one, I'm not licensed to practice law in New Jersey..... or any state for that matter, as I've never gone to law school..... well, not really. I did visit Harvard once on vacation, but that's another story.
