I just bought some 18" rims for my acura legend. The problem is that they are a little to wide. they rub against the body all the time. Does anyone know how to raise a car like that without wasting a lot of money?

Truth be told, the largest wheels recommended for your vehicle are 17". They don't make a tire that will fit your car with an 18" rim.

Raising your vehicle is not an easy task either, at any price.

My advice to you is to try to find a similar wheel for your vehicle that is 17" and sell your current wheels.

You would do good by visiting www.tirerack.com to see what wheels fit your vehicle and see what some will look like on your vehicle before you buy them.

Get a set of inexpensive ramps at an auto parts store. I can understand saving some money on the repairs, I love to do my own work, but your talking about being crushed to death here. I've seen people lose body parts or even their life trying to take a shortcut. Get a set of ramps or stands and be safe. Your life is worth more than the few pounds it will cost for the proper tools, and you'll still save a fortune by doing the work yourself.

if your wheels are rubbing all the time its not going to help raising 2 inches you said there to wide not to tall sounds like you need to get more tires not as wide

You can put new shock-absorbers. They should be tough and not so smooth. But your ride won't be smooth, but I think ok with 18" rims. Think about coil-springs.
