I don't watch a lot of Barca to be honest.

However, there seem to be a lot of Barca 'fans' on here, maybe they can tell you (unlikely).

I think I remember them playing in the Champions League last year, they played some sort of variation of the 442, something I think is referred to as the 'Christmas Tree' formation.

Eto'o up front, Ronaldinho and Messi (or was it Guily) in behind, Xavi, Deco, and Edmilson in central midfield roles (Edmilson in a more central defensive role).

Márquez, Puyol, Bronckhorst and Presas were playing in defense. This may be different now that players like Inestia, Zambrotta and Thurman have been brought into the team and Eto'o has been hurt (forcing Ronaldinho into a more central role), but that is how I remember it.
