Does it say DVD-RW? If it's not, then you can't burn a DVD, you can upgrade your DVD-ROM to DVD-RW as little as $55.00.

Your dvd -ROM drive will only play dvds not burn them. You need to buy and install a dvd burner also known as a dvd-RW drive. Middle of the road prices are usually around $60...note that dvd-rw drives will also play dvds the same as a dvd rom drive. Be aware that burners will eventually "burn themselves out " after a certain number of burns and will have to be replaced..usually around 500-600 burns.
Also, your motherboard speed has to be at least 500 MegaHertz for the burner to work properly. If you go to control panel and click on system your motherboard speed is listed under the heading "computer" first is motherboard type, then speed of motherboard, then the amount of physical memory or RAM installed on your computer. If your speed is higher than 500MH then your computer is fast enough to run the burner. For example my speed is more than 3 times the minimum and is listed as 1.91 GH (2*500MH=1GH) Not sure abound the other drive you mention but if it does not say dvd-RW then it is not a dvd burner. Hope this helps.

NO.
With the current hardware you have decribed you cannot burn anything (DVD's or CD's).
However if you are willing to replace one of the DVD-rom drives with a DVD burner, then you would be able to burn DVD's.
DVD Burners run about $50 online. The best brands are Sony, and Samsung. I would avoid HP, and Pioneer.

no you dont have a burner you only have a dvd "reader" which obvously means it only can read dvds not burn them. in order to burn a dvd you have to have a dvd burner you can get internal or external. internal is way more cheaper but in order to install internal YOU or some else has to open up your tower and install it which sends your warranty out the window(if u have one ) , so if your not a technical person i suggest getting an external , the prices run a little higher though but much easier to hook up

so as to burn dvds you desire a dvd burner (DVD-RAM) rigidity, & a application such as Nero to transcode & write to the rigidity. All cd/dvd rigidity will play dvds, yet can in simple terms burn cds. Double-click on "My computing gadget" to work out what drives you have.

There is no burner on there...you can read various DVD formats, but can't record anything on CDs or DVDs.
