Find out when your local libraries have their annual book sales. You can usually get books for under a dollar a piece. Also check out garage sales and paperback bookstores.I've had success with ebay. You can find pretty much anything on ebay!!!

If you need some book suggestions-your question wasn't very clear-here are some I hope you like......
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Smith
Marley and Me
The Grapes of Wrath
The Purpose Driven Life by Warren
The Amazing Mrs. Polifax by Gilman
The Blue Bottle Club by STokes
These are books I think everyone should read atleast once. They are entertaining and inspirational.

If not the library, try Goodwill Indsutries, Salvation Army, etc. I stocked half my bookshelves that way! eBay can work too. Have fun.
