I'm thinking of someone like Alison Krauss (a singer I really love, by the way), who technically is classified as "modern country", but a majority of her songs appear to be love songs/ballads without that "country sound".
Can you recommend any other female country singers who have a similar sound/vocal style?

If yer lookin fer someone who doensnt have that coutnry song ho signs country, there are a few i can suggest. Carrie Underwood has severl sogns that are borderlin country pop. The Wreckers are amazing. As with most artists, it depends on the song. Jessica Andrews is a great modern Country singer.Miranda lamert is realyl good, but hers is more coutnry rock soundin. Taylor Swift I think is an artist that you should really look into. She so amzing and just yeah....check her out! SHeDAISY is also good. Enjoy!

Carrie Underwood is very talented with her voice and had won american idol. I love her song "Jesus take the wheel" I think it's 1 of her absolute best songs. her voice is great! u should try her music and see how u like it! hope this helped
