I have just finished Dracula (the orignal by bram stoker) and I asked my uncle what is the best movie of this tale? he forced upon me that "Bram Stoker's Dracula" with anthony hopkins and winona ryder is the truest and best rendition of the book. But as I further looked into it, it is to my dismay that it is rated R. my question: why is it rated R? and if it is only because of certain clips, feel free to tell me what clips so that I may be able to watch it without having to worry about seeing anything my eyes would regret watching. I really do want to watch it!!!!
...also, I have a clean-flix movie store in my town, so I could get it there, but would it edit out so much that it would just be a waste of time and money?

any help on this matter would be appreciated! thanks!

It has implied sex, partial nudity and mild violence.
They rated it R because of this. Some parents don't want their small kids watching that stuff, so they are warned with the R rating.

Dracula Rating

Stoker's novel itself is fairly erotic - after all, Dracula is partial to young girls, seduces them (he can't come into your home, you must invite him) and mingles bodily fluids. It was written during a great syphillis epidemic and acts as something as a metaphor for that sexually transmitted disease. Coppola reintroduces it during the AIDS crisis and plays up the eroticism/betrayal. The nudity is not of your National Geographic kind; it's extremely sensual and the violence is up close and personal. The whole thing is intimate and overwrought at the same time. Keanu Reeves alone kills it, but Gary Oldman is fun to watch.

Dracula and the stuff at present became written for various audiences, the former for adults and the latter for pubescent babies. in spite of the undeniable fact that, Dracula became hardly the 1st. there became The Vampyre from 1819, Varney the vampire, Vikram and the Vampire from 1870 ( by using the tremendous Sir Richard Francis Burton), Carmilla ( lesbian vampires of 1872) and another pulpish ones. i come across Bobbee's remark relaxing as Dracula made it extremely sparkling that vampires could desire to be overseas by using day, they have been merely weaker and could merely shift form at midday.

The story line itself is kind of sexual. It shows a lot of female nudity and even a scene with an orgy, I believe with Keannu Reeves and three women. But it really is a good movie.

Ugh! I hated that version of Dracula.

I thought the cast was SO wrong for the parts they played.

Except for maybe Sadie Frost. I liked her as a red head vampire.

It is fairly erotic, with some female nudity and sexual talk and an orgy with dead ladies.
