When my daughter was in second grade they did an art project in school that I have shared with many people and that I use myself to help with my self esteem.

The teacher had them draw a picture of the scariest looking monster they could think up. Then at the bottom of the page they wrote in big letters, DON'T FEED THE MONSTER!!! then she told them this.

This monster eats all the bad things we say to ourselves about ourselves. Your not cool, you can't dress right, you are stupid, you are fat, you are ugly, you can't do anything right. Everytime you say something like this to yourself he gets bigger and bigger. Saying good things to yourself like I can do it, look at you sexy mama, you are so good at this or that well those kinds of things make him shrink up and eventually disappear. So stop feeding him and you will eventually start feeling better about yourself. One thing though, it doesn't happen over night. It takes a little time, but you will get there. good luck hun.

Things change as you get older & move through school. You are not the same person you were in middle school. You're not the same person this year that you were last year, and you won't be the same next year as you are right now. Ok, so you're still the same person, but you know what I mean, you're growing up. Your friends change, your interests change, school work gets harder.
You just have to go with the flow & take each day as it comes. Perk up & be happy right now where you are in your life. It's nice to think about how great things once were, & you will find that you will do that all your life.

I think it takes time for you to adapt a new life, jumping from middle school to early high school. Give some time for yourself, don't make lots of expecations yet, like getting 100 marks. I didn't know why you don't have much self confidence, is that related to the study?! If so, you can talk to your teacher regarding what problems you have right now, see whether they can help you or not. I think school life is the time for you to have fun and learn sth, but don't push yourself too much, any plm get someone u think is reliable to talk to. U can't hide yourself, lots of people undergo the same plm as you. For me, it is also very hard to jump from school to work....
Do you know that it is a little bit worry when I saw you put "one min. happy and one min. sad", if you don't try to sort it out, the plm may turn out badly, and it may take more time to fix. You must have confidence to make sth success... :-) Gd Luck & enjoy yr school life always~

I believe that you just need to take a deep beathe. First of all learning from experience I can tell you that the number one reason other people pick on people is because they do not get enough attention for themselves and they have to find some reason or another to make themselves stand out. the next time something like that happens just look then straight in the eyes and say to them " If all you have to do is to make fun of other people just so you will feel better about yourself, then you need to find another hobby, Go home and tel your parents they need to spend more time with you and stop wasting the rest of our time!" I promise if you can find enough confidence to say this you will feel better and more people will give you respect for sticking up for yourself!!!

i used to be really depressed. and one year, for christmas, my mom gave me these books.... here are there titles. the titles are funny, but the books are better. 1. Angus, Thongs, and Full-frontal Snogging, 2. Knocked out by my Nunga-Nungas, 3. Dancing in my Nuddy-Pants, 4. Away Laughing on a Fast Camel, 5. Then he at my boy Entrancers. She obviosly didnt give them all to me at the same time, but those are the ones i have read. they are by Louise Rennison. Anyway, they helped me get out of depression. not because they were self help books, but because they helped me to be like... y'kno, life isnt so bad. you know what i mean? and basically one day i woke up, put on a smile, and it has been there ever since. if you like to read, those books are good. if you dont... they are still good. they are like a diary about this girl named georgia nicolson in england (fictional character) and her life. she is really really girly and really really selfish and stuff, but they are funny to read. its light reading and its really funny.

yea i went thru it but whatever you do dont stop going to school. just think how many other people out there wish they were in your position and go to school like you. life is too SHORT to be down on yourself be happy and enjoy it before you regret it.

bitterness paranoia, calm down don't worry about what people think and just have fun instead of trying to be the funnest or get attention. Its not going to be great everyday either just hang with your friends and be yourself, if yourself is a b*tch try to control it.

ya i get the same feeling as you do, like when i was in junior high i was more cheery adnoutgoing, theni went silent once i started walking throught the highskool floors. i guess its just the feeling of isolation coz there are so many people in highskool, and it is hard to belong.

Sounds like me when I was in high school, and that was a long time ago. Don't sweat it. There will be better times.

Everyone goes through slumps. What you gotta do is to throw yourself into what you love, whether it be art, drama music, sports whatever. Make new friends, journal about your feelings. Its a rough time.
