There doesn't seem to be near the talent this year as there was last year on the show. In fact it sems this years best doesn't even compare to last years worst (of the final 24 contestants on each show). Does anyone agree or am i expecting too much too soon from teh contestants?

I completely agree with you. But you know what, it may just be that we're tired of it all and that we've heard some amazing voices these past few years and so now it's going to take a lot to impress us...but I don't think that we're expecting too much from them...they know what they're up against!

I was not at all impressed with any of the guy singers. I expected them to be much better than this.
I also believe that the best were not chosen for the final 24.
My hope and dream is that they will get better. If they do not I will not watch anymore.
My money is on Lakesha Jones?

I totally agree. I just don't see anyone that can compare with Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry, Elliott Yamin, and Katharine McPhee. Last year, maybe they just had an extra good year or something. I don't know. Or maybe they will get better. But you're right, it doesn't seem as good this year.

Tonight I just saw the guys and I disagree with you........what I see so far is just as good or better. It takes time to tell.
I Do get tired of Randy saying how off pitch someone is and other comments like " It just didn't do it for me " and similiar comments. Hearing their same comments over and over for one or two hours pulls my mood down.
I appreciate Ryan Seacrest! I'm also glad Paula has kinder words to say. The voters will decide.

I think the judges screwed up they got rid of alot of good singers in hollywood. I do agree that they really suck this year. I am thinking that the girls might be better. (I hope) But if they try to say that they had more votes this episode then ever I will not believe it. I got through easy I did like chris sligh but his comment was really rude.

i kinda felt that myself also, and my husband mentioned the same thing, it seem like (could be editing) that there were better choices to pick from, but that could be me, aside from the song that Chris Lewis sang tonight, i was not really impressed with the guy group, hopefully the girl group tommorow will show a better range of songs and entertainment,
been watching since season one

My wife commented that she would have taken that dorky little Kevin guy from last year over any of tonight's guys. It was depressing.
And Simon and Ryan need to just get it over with and get a room already.
