I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Haven't in 10+ yrs. I don't wear green, I don't go out drinking, and GOD help the person who tries to pinch me for not wearing Green.

People seem a little agitated in replying to this...! First off I'm Irish and I honestly don't see the racism involved. I mean, wouldn't it only be racist if the British WEREN'T celebrating st Patrick's day? and booing those who were?!? Some of the replies make no sense at all, St Patrick although the patron saint of Ireland, was born in England! That's like telling everyone that they can't celebrate Halloween because it originated in Ireland!! Seriously, the dude "seerdet" to get a life and enter this century!! He seems to be the only racist one here and it really annoys me what he said! The point is, don't you think that we've moved on from all this hostility?? whats wrong with English people wearing English jerseys on Paddy's day?? does that mean Americans cant wear American jerseys? that everyone around the world who celebrates it has to wear an Irish jersey??!?! I'm ranting now so I apologise but for people to infer that it's racist is just ridiculous!!! =]

Depends on your beliefs. First, most don't really know what St. Patrick's Day is for^_~ Most just think it's a time to celebrate the Irish. Also, do you worship Brigid? Is she a part of your spiritual path? If so, then also what are the pros/cons of celebrating? I personally don't think it's that big of a deal to celebrate or not. It's not that major of a holiday, and isn't usually seen as a religious holiday.

It is my observation that Pagans and the Wiccans celebrate life in general. They also tend to be more Christian like than church going folks!!!

Up to them; the main way people "celebrate" these days is by going to their favorite Irish pub and getting smashed anyway. Is there a pagan rule against that?

Should people who hate Bush celebrate President's Day? They hate him, but they have no problem getting the day off of work or school.
