My bf's mom is pushing is to move up to NYC (my bf is originally from there) because Miami isn't working out too well. Is it pretty easy, hard, challenging to find a decent job? I have customer service, phone, receptionist, restaurant and a bunch more of experience I can't remember right now. They both tell me you can ALWAYS find a job. True? False?

I did the same move from Miami to NYC and I found Miami more competitive than NYC for jobs. It took me about a month to find a job in a coffee shop. I stayed for a few months and kept looking until I found something better in customer service. It may be easier if you know Spanish. I've been in NYC seven years now and I tell everyone that's moving here that no matter what it is- finding a job, an apartment or a date- lots of people will try to scare the heck out of you saying how tough it is in NYC. Just ignore the haters and keep doing what you need to do.

I have heard both. I have cousin in NY doing well. It is expensive to live there. I would ask what do you have to loss? Do you have a job now that you are happy how about where you a living? Try it while you can then you'll know. lay out the pro's and con's

what the girl before me said.... personally i think it is pretty hard pending on what you want to do....i think the best position for you would maybe become hotel reception and/or a bartender....NYC night life is pretty big and I know that Webster Hall is always hiring because most of the people cant stand loud music for a while..but get certified first. i hope it works out good for you!
