I have an emachine 633ids and i tried to access the bios. It asks for the password and the problem is that i dont know the password and have never tried to access my comps bios.

What can i do?

so what i should do is pull the battery out and put it back in and start the computer?

Pull the battery inside the computer out and restart.

You will now be able to access the BIOS. Some settings, like the time, may need to be reset. Modern BIOSes can usually auto-detect disk drives, though. Thank God! Make sure you put the battery back in before you save.

Unplug your computer, open the case and then locate the CMOS battery. Mine is a round flat battery on the motherboard and when you unplug it the password will reset to the default of no password.

Obviously, someone has put a password for the bios in there. Parent or system admin. perhaps?
