His average is 28ppg last year it was 35.4ppg. It should really be around 31ppg considering he's the onle capable scorer on the team. I don't feel he's really found a happy median like Jordan did yet where he's scores a lot and gets his team mates involvesd during the same game. I's like to see his shots go up to like 22 a game.

Who the hell cares about Steve Nash's MVP's he also has 0 rings and people thought the Earth was flat. Jordan was around 22 shot attempt in the early 90's and he should be shooting a lillte more because no one else is a scorer!

You guys are missing what I'm saying about the the happy median. He should win a scoring title (whay not that's why you get a title for it) but not by like 4 points(which is going overboard because then no one else is shooting).

Ive been a guest of the Lakers ownership watching games in LA and hanging out with a couple of guys who work in the organization for the last dozen years, and to a man when Shaq left we all pretty much agreed that Kobe would probably average 35 a game and that they would lose a number of close games...well, touche'...it happened...the only way the Lakers will be successful again in the playoffs is for everyone to understand/perform in an orchestrated offense, and for there to be a second and possibly third option (which in Phils system always included another frontcourt player (pippen, shaq) and a sharpshooter, usually a guard (paxton, hodges, kerr, horry, fischer)...without another legitimate threat that is an inside presence with defensive,rebounding/and or/scoring skills (see horace (the first time) pippen, rodman, shaq, horace again, horry) the lakers will be left with undependable scoring from the outside and no established inside presence...currently Bynum is a project (but improving) and Brown while he hasnt played this year due to injury was often caught on the switch guarding a 1guard above the free throw line (lost on switch/roll) Odom I like but i believe he should drive more,Cook mostly plays 'small' (shooting a lot of long jumpers but out of position to rebound) and Walton a good and improving inside/outside player with good vision (read; passer) personally I believe they would improve if they could get an established 1 guard (who wont get swallowed whole getting posted up)with good range which would also allow kobe and the small forward the freedom to move without the ball and get better shots on isolation and off picks...

Kobe's shot attempts went down, and the Lakers W's went up!
hmmmmm lets do the math. Kobe is a better player sharing the ball! I've never been a Kobe fan but this year due to the team winning he deserves MVP consideration. Who cares about the 81 point game it doesn't matter when you are not winning games.
Kobe is the best he has been in a years. Players don't win games teams do.

Kobe's not passing too much. He's finally matured and realized that if he's gonna win championships without Shaq he's gonna have to get his teammates involved and not score half of his teams points. The Lakers are doing better this year than they have in they years since Shaq was traded to Miami. Unfortunately the West has 3 really really good teams in the Suns, Spurs, and Mavericks.

exactly, but nobody is noticing. THey still think it is Number 8 but this is NUMBER 24 people.
i saw the Denver game today, and in the 3rd quarter,
Carmelo Anthony - 1x points, x rebounds, 0 assists.
To be a high scorer, of course you will not have that much assits.
Also, Kobe took 7 field goal shots less than last year
He averages 7 points less than he use to.
He is not the old KOBE bryant~~
edit: what the @#$% rayhanks?
whos ur basketball fan? lol if its steve nash did u see kobe do a crazy dunk in front of his face Nash just stood there and then fell like a tard.

if the lakers are atop the pacific, shoot 50% as a team and kobe averages 9 assists per game, i dont think we will have this argument. but the fact that the lakers are only converting 46% of their shots and kobe registering ONLY 6 dimes a game, we start to question his playmaking and shot selection. and it doesnt help when the lakers are only 5,6 games over .500.
eventually what we want to see from kobe is deliver when it matters most, making clutch plays, shooting game winners, playoffs, game sevens. that is where he is and should be at his best.

I think he passes a little too much. I think his passing would result in more Laker wins if the team was not hit so hard this year by injuries. The way the roster is now. without Kwame, Walton, Vladimer,Mihms and with all the time Lamar missed the Lakers might do a little better if Kobe just took over more games.

I don't think he is passing too much. He's getting his teammates involved and playing great. The only problem is, when he sets up plays and makes awesome passes, the other guy has to be able to finish the play to make it all work and that has been a problem. But as for Kobe, he's doing what he's supposed to be doing!

they used to say that wilt shot the ball to much. so what did he do? next season he lead the league in assists and his team kinda suffered for it.
kobe is trusting his teammates more now than ever...he just has to make a decision when to pass off the ball and when to take over the game.

What's wrong with "Passing too much"? Steve Nash got the MVP partially(Ok, mostly) for passing. He is a point guard who is supposed to pass. It's called development. As players get older they become less selfish. In my opinion, if he ever wants to win league MVP, he will have to start passing. 35.4ppg is remarkable, but you don't get MVP for points.

I think he is doing just fine...I think towards the end of the season leading up to the playoffs, his scoring average will increase. I think right now he is trying to get his other teammates involved so that when playoff time does come they won't be so caught off guard.
