When I was surfing, I smelled some really awful smell. The smell was very bad. I didn't know what it was coming from. so I continued to surf. Everyday, it used to not smell like that. Then when I fell off my surfboard, there was a human corpse that I landed on. I was so freaked out and scared. I'm not sure how am I going to live that moment down. Any advice on getting over such event?

So you found a body - big deal. Just look at it this way, a family now feels better that their loved one has been found and that they can give a proper burial.

The best answer I can give is this: When you are wlking along the sidewalk and you see a dead leaf, it doesn't bother you. You don't even think about it. You know that leaves live and then they die, but it doesn't smell, so it doesn't really seem so very dead. But if you see a dead cat as you are walking along,you can probably smell something awful. That is very sad and yukky, but not a horrible traumatic thing. You know that cats live and die, and that 's the way nature is. But when we see a dead person, we are faced with our own mortality. Deep down, we might picture ourselves that way. But just like the leaf and the cat died, we do too. It's nature. What I'm getting at is we have this notion that death is awful. But it as much a part of life as being born. Read "Thanatopsis." It offers a whole new perspective on death. It may be hard to comprehend at first, but try. It's worth the effort.

Therapy my friend. The reason why you should see a therapist, is because you might have what's called post traumatic stress disorder. You may be okay with it now, and you may be okay with it in two years from now, but in five years, something that may seem irrelevant (like seeing a dead body in a movie for example, which we see quite often) might make you remember this event and you may develop fears, anxiety, and such. The therapist will make you get it out of your system, and will teach you little tricks to relive the event healthily.

Sorry you had to deal with the event. I'm transcribing the letters that my father sent home to his mother when he was a US Marine serving in Korea at Inchon and Chosin. He'd tell you to forget it and move on. You won't forget the smell, you'll just be glad you're away from it. He'd say shake it off. Sounds crass, but it's the only way to deal with it.

As long as you're alive, you have a life to live, and future people to live for. Buck up and share life. As long as you can.

First of all I do not believe you. Are you just making this up for entertainment. If not then of course you need to go to counseling. My son seen someone get electrocuted where he worked he was very traumatized and can still smell the flesh from the man that it happened too. I apologize if this really happened.
