Sweetie, I wouldn't wish slavery on anyone. According to what has been taught to me from my ethnicity, it's not the point of serving others, it's the point of being forced to do inhumane things. The ability to be "free" was not given to us then. We could have easily still have been born in Africa, but because of tribal issues, slavery trade of humans, and of that time and era, we have had to fight for everything even when the fight seemed to be over. Everyday you look in a mirror, be thankful not because slavery happened, but because you are a human being and deserve the "God given will" of "free will." In other words, just being free. What others are enduring in Africa is far greater than what we as African Americans have to endure now, so there is nothing wrong with being grateful in that sense; but recognize that you are an American because you reside in America. Not all of Africa is poor either, so keep that in mind...we Americans have paved the way and our brothers and sisters are now paving their own way...just give them time and if at one time you can reach out and be a friend...do so...but do it because they are who and what they are...human as you and I. Lengthy thought, but as a young sista, I had to inform you. I do so hope you have read it all and understand what I have stated. Take care, be Safe...and Stay Proud...(smiles)

Good grief, have you no sense of history? Of the horror that your ancestors went through when they were enslaved and dragged around the world against there own free will. Yes, its very wrong and very selfish. Read a book or two on slavery and tell you how feel then.

No i dont suppose so. We can only pray that slavery never happens again and those people were victims in very harsh times.
