Writing a story about three events in your life is the same as writing about any three other events. You follow the same steps.

First, choose which three events you want to use. They should be interesting, maybe suspenseful, something readers will find entertaining.

Second, make your character. Since it is fiction, you don't want to use your name exactly. So be creative. Make up a character you like, based kinda sorta on yourself. But don't be afraid to make them different in any way you like.

Start your story with the first event. Always start a story with action. Have some way for the three events to naturally happen in the story -- don't just write three different scenes and call it one story. Have the story flow in a natural way, and bring in the next event.

When you get done with your three events, end the story. End it on a cliffhanger if you like. Or have your character walking away into the sunset. Bring it to some kind of a satisfying close.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself. It's just like writing any other story, except you're borrowing from reality a little.

I believe that life is a continuous experiment, a constant search for ways to live life better. To make a rule is a statement that one has found the answer and need search no more. A rule calcifies living, but the spirit within refuses to stop living, refuses to stop the search for something better. So of course rules get broken, that's their purpose. They provide a structure that supports us while we gain knowledge, and experience and wisdom. And then we grow larger than the rules and must break them as a snake sheds its skin. We do this with poetry also, ever breaking rules, ever expanding our concept of what is possible. If we did not do this, we would never have gone beyond "Roses are red" etc.

I don't understand why a teacher/instructor/professor would ask you to mix the genres of fiction and autobiography. An autobiography is a TRUE account of your life. A novel is totally a work of FICTION.

I'd make an outline first, and choose the three things that really matter to YOU. That will make it easier. Probably in chronological order.

Because it is an autobiography, you are writing it and no one can tell you how or how not to start it.
