If you are talking about a urinary tract infection it is caused by bacteria getting into the urethral opening and causing the infection. It is not related to sexual activity and is usually present more often in females than males because of the shorter urethras. Girls can even get them from bubble baths, and this is why that is not a good idea especially for children.

A urine infection is not related to sex if you are with a women. The woman can have it though because she is being penetrated and if it is rough it can cause a problem with the bladder which is right behind the vaginal wall. So, for a man, no. It is caused by bacteria in the urine. Drink lots of water, pure cranberry juice and juice. Then take the drug the Dr. gives you. Keep the penis clean and don't stick it in places it isn't supposed to be, without a condom. It can be caused by not having a good immune system. Take a good vitamin and mineral supplement each day and keep up the water and cranberry juice, won't hurt to prevent it either. Also, sometimes the good bacteria is killed if we take antibiotics. So, eat yogurt with live cultures , read the label, take in between antibiotics, like a few hours after because it kills antibiotics but replaces good flora in intestines and urinary tract. Good luck.

Urinary tract infections can related to be but is not always the case. To keep from getting infection from sex, urinate after sex.
This flushes the urinary tract of any foreign material that may have gotten in. Other culprits of these infections are wiping from back to front and bubble baths.

Yes and no. There are differnt types of urinary infections. There is one that is related to and caused from having too much sex,
as someone else sad it is often referred to as the "Honeymooners" infection. It is caused from the build up of semen inside the vagina- I had this once after spending a weekend away with a boyfriend. A short dose of anti biotics clears it up very quickly. And the trick is to drink a lot of room temperature and warm water to flush out your bladder and stay away from drinking orange juice and other juices as they irritate an infected bladder
